About this listen
When I wake up at a female auction in a world I don’t recognize, all I can think about is getting back home to Texas. I want absolutely nothing to do with a realm called Valora, magic, faeries, or being sold to the highest bidder.
But the Day Realm King has other plans.
Zander says I’m his fated mate. I don’t believe him. That doesn’t stop him from tricking me into marrying him though. It doesn’t matter if I argue or run—he won’t let me go.
I should hate him. Instead, I find myself ridiculously attracted to the stubborn, broody man. He terrifies me, so I don’t know why his rare smiles give me warm tingles or why his arms make me feel safe.
Everything about Valora is confusing, but after just a short time here, I realize something—this place is full of dangers that are way more frightening than my new husband, and staying by his side just might be my only option.
The Fae King's Prize can be listened as a standalone novel, though the story is interconnected with other books in the Between Dawn and Dusk series.
Other books in the series are:
- The Fae King's Curse (Kirian and Quinn)
- The Fae King's Dream (Damon and Whitley)
- The Fae Warrior's Princess (Torius and Dani)

This is the third story in the series and follows the final cursed king, Zander. Zander frees, and then still keeps Maelyn, even though she wants to go home, because she is his fated mate. She can’t feel it though because the bond is a little broken due to events happening in the prior book.
I did have a little trouble warming up to both the characters and also, felt it odd that there was a such a big departure from the prior story line even though it wasn’t fully resolved. I found it a little jarring and I’m wondering if this was an oversight or if this was something intentional?
For my second read (first time, I actually read the ebook), I listened to the audiobook and I really liked it. These are new to me narrators and Bryant Walker had this light, cultured voice which on one hand, was perfect for an elven king but in my mind, I expected a rougher voice. No matter, he did a great job. Leanne Woodward did wonderful as well so I loved living through the story once more through the audiobook!

🤤 Zander.
When he appeared in book 2 of the series I was instantly intrigued by the dark-haired, broody fae king and he did not disappoint. With this series, Jamie Schlosser has made me a fan of fae romance books.
The curse these kings have and breaking them with their soul mates.
The little twist she threw in this with May was fantastic. Kept me on the edge of my seat to find out what would happen next and how it would all work out.
Overall, Love love LOVE this series. Amazing listen.
