About this listen
Nothing says romance like spending a long weekend at a haunted inn famed for sending its guests to the ER with scratches, bites, and fractures. Or so Linus thinks when he books a trip for Grier and himself to Oliphant House. As far as honeymoons go, the choice is nontraditional, but then, so is his bride.
Haunted history is one of Grier's great loves, and she's thrilled to discover Linus has given her a mystery to solve. Forget walks on moonlit beaches and sipping fruity drinks, Grier would much rather unravel the curse that's plagued the Oliphant family for generations than pick sand from between her toes.
The resident spooks, however, aren't happy with the newlyweds sticking their noses where they don't belong. Between the missing persons, the dead bodies, and the secrets lurking in the basement, Linus and Grier start to wonder if they'll survive their honeymoon.
Contains mature themes.
©2020 Black Dog Books, LLC (P)2020 TantorAs I borrowed How To Survive An Undead Honeymoon book through my Kindle Unlimited subscription, I added the narration. However, I ended up listening to the story rather than reading it. This is only the second time I've heard Rebecca Mitchell and I enjoyed her performance once again. I like the pace at which she reads a story and the emotions she put into the narrative. Rebecca was able to adjust her voice slightly when reading the dialogue, to make it easier to distinguish male from female characters. However, separating Grier from Lethe, for example, wasn't quite as easy.
Although Grier Woolworth is only in her early 20s, I love how she's continued to grow and evolve as this series progressed. She has all the personality traits that I crave from a female protagonist plus her sense of humour makes me chuckle. Grier is intelligent, resilient, resourceful and has plenty of gumption. Linus has the traits that that set off all my girly parts as well as warm my romantic heart. I love him too.
This is the second of the "epilogue novellas" that aim to tie up a few loose ends and gives Grier's and Linus's happy ever after. There's NO life-or-death perilous cliffhanger at the end of this novella. However, I can't wait to read the final epilogues novella, How To Rattle An Undead Couple.
