About this listen
Random House presents the audiobook edition of The Energy Plan, written and read by James Collins.
The secret diet of the sports elite - and how you can eat to win in your life
World-leading sports nutritionist James Collins shapes the diets of Olympic athletes and Premiership footballers, so they are on peak form when it counts. After a decade of working with the likes of Arsenal FC, England Football and Team GB, now he’s distilling his elite sports success into simple food principles that any of us can follow to feel at our best in our daily lives.
Peak performance is all about energy and how to eat and exercise right for your body and your routine. By following The Energy Plan, you will learn how to fuel your body for your life, power through the 3pm slump and resist the junk foods that drag you down. Instead you will naturally choose foods that will leave you bursting with energy for work and play. You’ll feel more productive and flourish under pressure. You’ll sleep well, lose unwanted weight and never (or rarely) get ill again.
Forget fasting and low carb diets. The Energy Plan is a whole new mindset that will forever change your relationship with food, exercise and your body, giving you a winning edge in everything that you do.

Good book, should come with pdf
Good book with very useful content, definitely worth the purchase. It would have gotten 5 stars had it come with a supplementary pdf as many other books on audible do.

Practical advise
Enjoyable listen. I felt it gave good practical advise which can be applied. The book gets you to question what you're eating and how this is helping you. Following listening to the audio book I purchased the hard copy so I can mark the sections that I can apply to daily living.

Essential for training and life
This book is essential for any training programme but more broadly for general nutrition. It:
* comprehensively explains your bodies nutritional needs in an accessible and informative way
* gives you the skills to plan your meals based on your nutritional and exercise requirements
I feel full of energy since following this book. I can train more effectively, concentrate better at work and have more energy in my general life.
It has helped me go from someone who had a disordered feast and famine approach to diet, which was exclusively focused on weight, to a sustainable and healthy plan which has left me stronger, fitter and healthy.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to get control of their nutrition and feel better.

Nothing new
Author obviously has the knowledge and experience but there's nothing groundbreaking here.
Like everything it's about habing a plan and repetition.
It's a little. Different for sports people you can work with daily and are expelling a lot. Of energy, but for your average person its unlikely to. Go much further than the basics. He touched on caloric intake which is the real reason for weight gain or loss not what's on the plate protien carbs wise etc.
Good if you need some basics but won't extend your mutational knowledge much further, in my. Opinion!
