Build a strong bond with your kid

Being a parent is hard, no matter what kind of kid you have. But when you add something like ADHD in the mix, it makes it even harder. This was a helpful guide for being the best parent you can be even when you have a child who is more challenging. I like how this book didn't talk about your kid like he is a problem that needs to be fixed. This author talks about ways to manage the unique difficulties we face while still building a strong connection with your child.

Mastering ADHD Parenting

Fun and playful cover on the outside, practical strategies for parents on the inside. As an Uncle of an ADHD family member (father myself) this topic is near and dear to me so any information on the the topic is accepted. This one did not disappoint, it was obvious the author has first hand knowledge and/or has done masterful research on ADHD. The main themes revolve around effective communication, managing outbursts, stress reduction, and supporting academic and social success ... all perfect topics to help! My favorite aspect is the emphasis on empathy and positive reinforcement, fostering a supportive environment for children with ADHD.

Great strategies

Been in the ADHD parenting game for a while now, with a 17-year-old who's been showing signs since she was 2. Came across this book that's packed with insights, especially useful if you're just getting your feet wet with ADHD. It's a whole spectrum, not just the hyperactivity most folks think about. We're talking emotional rollercoasters, memory lapses and the crave for dopamine.

What's great is that this author gets it. They're all about breaking down what ADHD really means, making it easier for us parents to get a handle on things at home. But it's not just for parents. If you've got someone in your life with ADHD, this book sheds light on how to really support them, beyond just dealing with the symptoms.

ADHD can feel pretty isolating, not gonna lie. There's a lot of side-eye and misconceptions out there, making it tougher. Grateful for books like this that aim to spread some understanding and make our journey a bit less lonely.
