About this listen

Thirteen-year-old Jacob Mandel has it all: a loving family and a nice home. But nothing prepared him for what happened when the Nazis took his entire family away to a concentration camp. Miraculously, he escapes and survives by clinging to the one thing that gives him hope: his faith. But when he falls into the hands of the Hitler Youth, he discovers they have a secret....

When the Edelweiss Pirates come across a death train packed with Jewish prisoners bound for a concentration camp, they do the unthinkable…but at what cost?

I found this book to be better than the first book in the series and that was good. The setting, the Holocaust chapters were some of the best fiction on the Holocaust I have ever read.

The Edelweiss Pirates, were hero's and what they got up to, was just brilliant, some very funny parts, but equally some action and tragic events. Great narrator, brings it to life.
