About this listen

"This story is dark romance at its best. Simply perfection!" (Charmaine Pauls, USA Today best-selling author)

A fortune teller once told Mila she’d find a man who would take her breath away. She refrained from telling her it would be literally while Mila ran for her life.

Having always done what is expected of her, Mila dresses the part, only dates college boys with exemplary backgrounds, and doesn’t ask questions. Not about her papa’s absences or his refusal to let her set foot in her birthplace - Russia.

Suffocated by the rules and unanswered questions, Mila does what she’s always wanted to.

She boards a plane to Moscow.

She never expected to fall for a man on the way. One with unexplained wealth, tattoos on his hands, and secrets in his eyes. But it doesn’t take long for his caress to become a rough grasp muffling her screams.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Unfortunately, a Russian winter is the coldest of them all, and Mila soon learns the only way to escape intact is to do the impossible and thaw her captor’s heart.

Dark and dangerous

Really enjoyed listening to this book,
Narration is perfection.
Daryl Mayfield and Regina Marquez did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life, especially with their accents and speaking in French and Russian.
I was totally enthralled by Roman and Mila's complicated romance.
Roman saved her ,then kidnapped her ,became her enemy and a monster and then fell in Love with her.
There are dark moments, steamy scenes and romantic heartfelt moments too.
Mila was very naive at the beginning of this book, not knowing her father was a part of the Mafia. So when she embarks on a journey to Russia to find out more about her family. She discovers more than she bargains for.
She certainly didn't expect to be taken by her father's enemy and to fall for him.
By the end of the book you can see how much she has grown and changed.
This is a fantastic story and a brilliant Audiobook book that I highly recommend.

Enjoyable and just as good as the rest

A series I was recommended to read and I'm so glad I did. At times I wanted to hit Mila but you had to love her cheer!

Mila and Ronan ❤️🔥

This is probably the best mafia romance series out there, and Mila and Ronan are my favourite couple. This story is amazing, full of twists and turns and keeps you entertained from start to finish. Narrators did amazing job of bringing characters to life ❤️

A difficult genre to be original in, but the author nailed it in my opinion.

Sheer make believe!

This is #3 of the series and should be read in order. Ronan is the perfect anti-hero and he could kidnap me any day!

What didn't make sense was Mila, a very naive 22 year old who is watched 24 hours a day, never having travelled a day in her life, suddenly being brave enough to take herself from sunny Miami to Moscow.

Then having managed this excursion, she is nearly raped, "saved" by  Ronan and falls madly in love with him! At no point does she sense any danger bearing in mind that her father is Russian and she is now being wined and dined by the head of Bratva!

Then, blow me down, she basically gives her body to Ronan and is surprised to find that she is drugged, kidnapped and a sex tape is revealed!

Mila's kidnapping adventure wasn't too onerous as she stayed in Ronan's very palatial home and was treated extremely well under the circumstances, even being provided with vegan food!

Ronan's brother, Christian, and little family were staying there too, but for some reason we didn’t see them very often which I found odd. There was one scene, however, with Giana and her daughter, Kat, which was delightful.

There was talk of Mila having Stockholm Syndrome which I didn't believe for a minute as she was in love with Ronan from the start. It was only when she discovered more of her past that she was able to understand "the Devil" and brought sunshine into his black heart.

I found the book to be far too long and introspective, but I did like her relationship with the rabid Khaos (also unbelievable) and chemistry between Mila and Ronan just sizzled!

All in all, it was an unbelievable romp on the dark "fluffy" side with a delicious anti-hero and an HEA!

The narration was excellent.
