Critic reviews

"This is Rankin at his comic best. He does for England what Spike Milligan does for Ireland. There can be no higher praise" (John Clute, Mail on Sunday)
"We read Rankin for his exuberant salmagundi of old jokes, myths urban and otherwise, catchphrases, liberatingly crazy ideas, running gags, recurring characters and locations, unreliable, autobiogrpahical anecdotes...he becomes funnier the more you read him" (Mat Coward, Independent)

The master of Far Fetched Fiction brings possibly the greatest novel. Clearly it was dictated to him by none other than Hugo Rune himself.

Crazy cyclical journey

Read in glorious Brent-o-coustix (tm) by our beloved Mr Rankin himself! The man is, in the kindest sense, either mad, or a genius.

Just because you're paranoid...

I find the stories in this trilogy both fun and great at making my brain investigate other possibilities. The connections of facts are link finding missing pieces.

Magical

I feel like I'd read Ian Rankin books in the past and quite enjoyed them, so I was excited to see I could read this one included in my membership. I can't seem to remember the titles I liked before...something about a chocolate bunny of the apocalypse? Anyway, 5 chapters in and it's just a weird stream of consciousness and I can't get into it. Sounds like grampa from Simpsons telling a story and getting lost on the way

Mostly drivel

Maybe the writer should stick to writing rather than narration. Dreadful on all counts.

First book in a long time I couldn't finish
