تدور مسرحية تدور مسرحية اللحظة الحرجة حول إحدى الأسر التى تغلق باب الحجرة على ابنها الشاب لكي تمنعه من المخاطرة بحياته في الكفاح المسلح ضد الإنجليز، لكن الباب لم يكن مغلقًا بإحكام، وكان بوسع الشاب أن يتذرع أمام نفسه بأن الباب مغلق، ومن ثم فإنه لا يستطيع الخروج للمشاركة مع الآخرين في ضد العدوان، وكان بوسع الشاب لو أراد أن يدفع الباب بكتفه دفعة بسيطة لينفتح فينطلق إلى مواجهة العدوان مع الآخرين، ولم يكن أحد يراقبه، كانت تلك لحظته الحرجة الخاصة، ولم يكن الباب في حقيقة الأمر سوى تجسيد لتلك اللحظة، بوسعه إذا شاء أن يعتبره حاجزاً، أو أن يتجاوزه.
