About this listen
Charlie has a new helper on her bus, her free-spirited and loveable cousin, Delilah, who’s paid a visit to the charming Cornish village of Porthgolow and is helping out on Charlie’s adorable cream tea bus.
When the Director of a new TV series filming further along the coast tells Delilah that the bus would be the perfect addition to their onsite catering, she takes him a bit too literally. Charlie and Delilah find themselves caught up in the filming of a lavish period drama and it isn’t long before Delilah finds herself drawn to the handsome male lead.
But Delilah has made a habit of making rash decisions and it’s one of the reasons she’s hiding out in Cornwall. Could this be one impulsive step too far, or is a change of direction the start of something quite unexpected…

Narrator
Good that the story followed on but when using a different narrator why don’t they at least try to do the same accent as the original. Julia is french and in the first book had an accent in this one nothing! I wish the author’s would use the same person throughout all the related books

A lighthearted enjoyable listen
I enjoyed the story again, as I did the first one. Very light and cheery generally. However, nearly at the end Lila’s rash impetuousness nearly made me stop listening! It was so irritating. However that’s who she is as a character, and I enjoyed the rest of the journey. Thank you.

Enjoyable, predictable read.
I have listened to this feel good series and though not thought provoking, it has been very enjoyable when you need a light hearted feel-good listen.

Cornish Cream Tea Bus so enjoyable
Gosh have I enjoyed these books - I’ve not read them in order but it doesn’t matter - I’m 68 but still love a well written heart stopping romance, drama, with terrific characters and prose. This one is particularly clever to use a TV drama acting cast and to set Gertie within it. The setting of Cornwall and the whole idea is brilliant. Well done to Cressida McLaughlin

A very decent sequel
The narrator and the narrative have changed in this second book from the first and I found it rather difficult to get used to at first. But I did and enjoyed it.
As with book 1, the female lead in this second book has irritated me with her rashness and inability to see things from other people's perspectives. But that isn't a criticism of the book, indeed it is the character's personality traits that have rubbed me up the wrong way.
This was a worthy sequel but I am slightly apprehensive to listen to the third book now as I wonder if someone else will fly off the handle without weighing up the situation properly first...

Different narrator to first book
I got over this by telling myself it was Delilah’s story not Charlies but just wish the pronounced the towns name the same
