When is a toast not a toast... when it leads to murder. This third book in the Opulence series from Leah Orr is edge of the seat listening, the usual mix of quirky and likeable characters once again meet at the Opulence Hotel and get involved in murder and mystery. Well written and fast paced, all assisted by Annalee Scotts narration, I thought the addition of Danny Montooth sharing the narration reading the male parts was a great move in the production. Highly Recommended listen.

When Marilyn and Scratch arrange for their best friends to meet, There is an instant connection between the two. Misty and Roland where both brought up by single mothers and have big secrets in their family history witch come to light because of their meeting. This is a well thought out story with engaging characters and plot full of twists and turns. I loved this story. Annalee Scott, Danny Montooth narration is excellent.

This was just an amazing listen - I just stopped everything and listened to it as I wanted to know how the beginning would resolve (that was great) The characters were fun, yes it was completely over the top and unbelievable but that is the fun of listening and escaping to a book. The kids were so cute and funny.
The additional short story really worked and I enjoyed that as well.
The extract about the author was really moving re the profits being donated for research.
The narration worked really well.

After the beginning scene of the book, the action jumps back in time to the beginning of the MCs' relationship. I honestly forgot I was in a suspense thriller, as I fell in love with the quick banter between the main characters. What a ride this book turned out to be!!

I thought the narrators did a great job and had great comedic timing.

Wow! Just wow! What a fantastic book! The worldbuilding is great, the suspense builds throughout the story, and the characters feel so real. I loved the dual narration by Annalee Scott and Danny Montooth. Utterly unputdownable.

Whilst I enjoyed the premise, the character relationships were far too rushed. The idea that people would meet and get married in such short spaces of time is beyond belief.

I think perhaps had the timeline been extended on this much of the story would flow better/feel less rushed.

I felt that the twist was evident a lot sooner than it should have been and towards the end I did struggle to complete I'm sorry to say.

I did however enjoy the overall storyline and having 2 narrators was a good idea
