About this listen

THE SUNDAY TIMES NUMBER ONE BESTSELLER

Be careful before answering your next call. It could be the beginning of your worst nightmare.

After a tough week, Tanya Kaitlin is looking forward to a relaxing night in, but as she steps out of her shower, she hears her phone ring. The video call request comes from her best friend, Karen Ward. Tanya takes the call and the nightmare begins.

Detectives Robert Hunter and Carlos Garcia are thrown into a rollercoaster of evil, chasing a predator who scouts the streets and social media networks for victims, taunting them with secret messages and feeding on their fear.

From Sunday Times Number One Bestseller, The Caller is as addictive as a TV boxset! Read for you by Thomas Judd, narrator of Bailey’s Prize winner The Power, Chris Carter’s One by One and Slade House by David Mitchell.

Fantastic story, plenty of atmospheric goosebump moments. A really enjoyable, well narrated audiobook. Will definitely be looking for more from this author.

Loved this book. The storyline was excellent and the tension throughout was palpable. Trying to guess who the killer was and his reasons for murdering the victims kept me on the edge of my seat. Well worth the credit. I also thought the narrator was perfect for the book.

Great

The first few lines of listening to an American narrator (ONLY because I'm so used to british) was very strange, I was almost certain I was going to give up after 5 minutes being the stubborn idiot I am, but am I glad I didn't! It was like listening to a movie being narrated, the story was really good, kept me hooked!
The only thing I found a tiny bit irritating was a couple of the female voices. They were portrayed as very stereotypical trashy American young girl, which almost made them unlikeable, even when we should have totally been on their side being victims.
Overall very very pleased I stuck with it, and will be less judgy next time, ha!

I didn't expect to enjoy it as much!

My first audio book and my first book by Chris Carter, this one is truly a masterpiece.

First book from audible is as perfect as it gets

Violent murders are committed. These are witnessed, via a video phone app, by someone who loved the victim. The murder taunts the viewers, giving them a chance to save their loves one....

Robert Hunter is again out to save the day.

I'm not sure this book is as good as the early ones in the series. I thought the ending g was far too rushed . Hence 4 not 5 stars.

intresting story but rushed ending.

Genuinely didn’t see the killer in this one. Great story and really good performance. Love listening to these on long journeys but always find myself listening to more at home

Good as always

I had taken a break from the series after the last book as i felt the series was slowing down. I was on the lookout for a read and when this book was suggested i looked at the cover and noticed that Thomas Judd was narrating i was swayed into buying as I liked Carters earlier books.

What a return for me, this book is every bit as good as the earlier books in the series. The narrator on the last couple was good but Judd just brings these stories alive for me, he really brings Garcia to life and makes his such a likable character. Overall Judds voice paints the picture of Hunter for me.

Far as the book goes it was very exciting. Enjoyed this one so much. I usually listen to these books as work only tobut found myself listening through the car speakers on the way home. Story was paced well, nothing too predictable and found the storyline original too. Highly recommend.

Anticipating the upcoming new book. Cant wait.

Happy for the return of Thomas Judd.
