About this listen

Everyone is hiding a secret. One of them is murder.

The book club was her idea, of course.

It was her way into our group. A chance to get close.

I knew from the day she arrived that she couldn't be trusted.

And I was right.

Alice didn't come to the village for peace and quiet.

She came for revenge.

A deliciously addictive psychological thriller about a book club that unravels dark and scandalous secrets between one circle of neighbours. The perfect for fans of Big Little Lies and The Rumour.

ok read but not the best. I enjoyed the ending but it lost it's way for me in the middle.

not the best

slow to start but then had me gripped all the way through. Leaves you wanting to know what happened next - so many questions.

Gripping

Kept me guessing right to the end, found it really gripping, listened well past my bedtime to get to the end which is always a good sign! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Loved it!

Enjoyed the story
Guessed the motive mid way perhaps but appreciated the final twist
Didn't relate to any of the characters but Id say thats for the best 😂

Enjoyable

On paper this should have been right up my street - a great way to escape into a book. It worked with reservations. I really really struggled with concept, going from someone that wouldnt say boo to a ghost to being a master manipulator. I just couldn't see it.

This was a book club choice. Also struggled with the quick turnaround in reading, what exactly was the time frame.

Interesting listen

Started strong and I enjoyed that it was from different character perspectives however fell majorly flat towards the end and a disappointing (and dare I say, predictable) ending.

Poor ending

Most enjoyed this book but it just got a little ridiculous towards the end . Hard to believe that a wean who suspected someone was trying to kill her , walks into the bedroom of her killer , by her own choice . A bit silly!

Ending was a let down

I loved this book at the start. It's written well but got, boring so I didn't enjoy the ending.

A good story

Very slow start...A few story lines within were too hard to beleive. Far fetched.
Good escalation of intensity towards the end, but felt the ending fell flat.

Suitable at a day time movie!

I nearly gave up on this book but as it was our Book Club book I persevered. Glad I did. I wish each chapter was intrigued with a chapter heading stating who's perspective it was as it switched between characters.

Slow start but intriguing story
