About this listen

**The Sunday Times bestseller**

'One of the best fantasy novels I've read in a long time...This book is truly special' Sarah J. Maas on The Bone Shard Daughter

The Bone Shard War is the epic finale to the unmissable, action-packed and magic-laced Drowning Empire series.

Lin Sukai has won her first victory as Emperor, but the future of the Phoenix Empire hangs in the balance - and Lin is dangerously short of allies.

As her own governors plot treason, the Shardless Few renew hostilities. Worse still, Lin discovers her old nemesis Nisong has joined forces with the rogue Alanga, Ragan. Both seek her death.

Yet hopes lies in history. Legend tells of seven mythic swords, forged in centuries past. If Lin can find them before her enemies, she may yet be able to turn the tide.

If she fails, the Sukai dynasty - and the entire empire - will fall.

Great story and absolutely outstanding performance

The story of this last book is beautiful, the author really makes this fantasy world feel alive. The narrators are superb.

A fantastic conclusion to a fantastic series

Often, I find the first book in a trilogy to be the strongest—in this case, each book was better than the previous. Both the writing and the narrators were brilliant, and I laughed and cried, worried and rejoiced as the story twisted and turned. Highly recommended!

Glad that the second book didn't put me off

The second book in the series was a serious slog, and I contemplated not returning for the final installment.
I am glad that I did pick this up as it was quite the audiobook version of a page turner.

I really like the male voice actor's interpretation of Mephy's voice. It was a slight jarr, when the female voice actor didn't put in any effort for Mephy's voice in Lin's chapters.

I loved the story with Jovis. As I too puzzled out how to workaround each of his predicaments.

The hunt for the swords was a bit of a damp squib. They hunted one, and then you couldn't move for white blades swords. Every character had one within a few chapters.

Maybe there's space in the series for a prequel novel an it Deown and Elon, and what happened to form the Su-Kai Dynasty.

Solid ending

Not the best in the series, but a good solid ending that ties everything up nicely.
