Let me start by saying that this story is not macabre in any way, but that shouldn't deter you from purchasing this.

It is a great and sad story of missed genius and meaning. A philosopher, who has great promise and is good at his job has a vision, enhancing his ideas of grandeur, but he's forced to accept reality later in life, bringing a very Checkovian ending to the story.

I somewhat disliked the narration. The narrator has a quite "unique" performance, more than a bit overdramatic, which works very well for some of the stories in the series, but not this one I'm afraid, at least not to me. It wasn't bad enough to have negatively impacted the story a lot, but still I would have preferred a more suitable narration style for the story.
