Gripping, powerful, haunting
Fascinating account of centenarian African American woman's life starting from her 1860s childhood. An unvarnished, matter-of-fact testimony. This 'fictional realism' is an amazing feat of writing.

loved this story, it felt alive
I cannot believe i took so long to find this book and listen to it. This was a captivating and brilliant read.
