About this listen

All good things come to an end. And this is it: the last stand of the Ketty Jay and her intrepid crew.

They've been shot down, set up, double-crossed and ripped off. They've stolen priceless treasures, destroyed a 10,000-year-old Azryx city and sort-of-accidentally blew up the son of the Archduke. Now they've gone and started a civil war. This time, they're really in trouble.

As Vardia descends into chaos, Captain Frey is doing his best to keep his crew out of it. He's got his mind on other things, not least the fate of Trinica Dracken. But wars have a way of dragging people in, and sooner or later they're going to have to pick a side. It's a choice they'll be staking their lives on.

Cities fall and daemons rise. Old secrets are uncovered and new threats revealed.

When the smoke clears, who will be left standing?

Brilliant!!!

Twists, turns, tragedy, relief, tears and laughter a real roller coaster, loved it!
You are left guessing right to the end as to how it will all turn out and along the way, just when you think 'x' will happen something happens s which makes the story take off in another direction. possibly the best in the series and why oh why is it the last!!??
Please can we have one more, at least?

This series got better & better.

I enjoyed all of these four novels. They’re each one a superb tale. Violent, mysterious and at times totally hilarious.

I shan’t go into ‘spoiler’ detail. Just give you some observations.
Malvery has become one of my favourite characters ever. A rotund alcoholic, but a man of great depth, honesty, loyalty and bravery. He is often the funniest of the bunch.
I loved the whole daemon aspect.
Appreciated the world building.
Couldn’t help but visualise Harrison Ford’s Han Solo every time ‘The cap’n’ talked.
Was pretty much hooked from start to finish.
Found the ending a slight let down.
One of the best narrations I’ve listened to. Brilliant accents and really brought the whole thing to life.

I’m missing the crew of the Ketty Jay already....

Again a great story. A nice finale for the crew of the ketty jay. I laughed out load I cried as I shared the journey. Read well again. It would be nice if there were more adventures.

A treat to listen to

The tale of the Ketty Jay comes to life with Rupert's voices. Awesome story line with unexpected twists, witty humour and loads of atmosphere. Loved all four books.

Just brilliant, I was gripped from book one!

A great series of books and I'm sad it's over! These books got me back into reading, after I listened to the audio books I had to buy the hard copies and read them again!

the characters are deep and interesting and even the newer characters that come later are great!

highly recommended!

A great end to an entertaining series.

It's not often I can say I'm satisfied with the ending to a book series, but this one managed it.
It's not literary genius, and it doesn't exactly break new ground. But it's fun and exciting and emotional at times. I'm sad to be at the end.
