Understanding how women are affected
This book shows how not having a dad around can mess with how a girl feels about herself. Some women grow up thinking they not good enough or always end up in bad relationships and don’t know why. The book talks about that in a real way and gives ideas on how to feel better and stop those bad patterns. I think a lot of women could feel seen by this. It can help them start healing and feel like they matter.

Insightful and Really Helped Me Connect the Dots
I’m so glad I listened to this audiobook. It helped me understand just how much growing up without a father’s love has shaped the way I approach relationships as an adult. The author explains it in such a thoughtful way, and for the first time, I felt like I wasn’t just imagining the connection between that missing piece and some of the struggles I’ve had with trust and self-worth. What I really appreciated is that it doesn’t just point out the impact—it also offers ways to start healing and breaking those patterns. The narrator has a warm, caring tone that made it really comforting to listen to. I honestly feel more hopeful after finishing it and would recommend it to anyone who’s felt the same way.

Finally Made Sense of My Struggles with Insecurity
Listening to this audiobook was a turning point for me. For years, I couldn’t figure out why I felt so anxious in relationships or why I kept repeating the same painful patterns. This helped everything click into place. I finally understood how growing up without a father had shaped my sense of self-worth, my fear of being abandoned, and the way I connect with others. The author explained things in a way that felt personal and compassionate, not clinical. It was emotional at times, but also incredibly validating. For the first time, I felt like I wasn’t broken, I just hadn’t seen the full picture. This will help you understand on a deeper level you emotional patterns and help you heal and find way forward.

Amazing information
I shared The Absent Father Effect on Daughters with a friend, not realizing how deeply she needed it. It helped her recognize long-held patterns—like low self-esteem and relationship fears—and gave her the tools to start healing. The stories and strategies made her feel truly seen. She’s now setting boundaries, practicing self-compassion, and rebuilding her confidence. I’m so glad I passed this along—it’s been a powerful turning point in her journey.

Finally Put Words to the Pain
Finally Put Words to the Pain - UK
If you've ever felt a quiet ache around your father’s absence, this book helps you make sense of it. It doesn't gloss over the hard stuff, but it also doesn’t leave you stuck there. What I liked best is how it walks you through practical ways to start healing - nothing too “woo,” just real and doable. It felt like someone finally put language to things I hadn’t even realized I was carrying. Worth the read.
