About this listen
Stephen R. Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has been a top seller for the simple reason that it ignores trends and pop psychology for proven principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity. Celebrating its 15th year of helping people solve personal and professional problems, this special anniversary edition includes a new foreword and afterword written by Covey that explore whether the 7 Habits are still relevant and answer some of the most common questions he has received over the past 15 years.
This audio edition is the first ever unabridged recording of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying reference material will be available in your Library section along with the audio.

For me the first three habits (independence) - be pro-active, start with the end in mind, and first things first were the more helpful habits and I listened to them a second time. The second three habits (interdependence) are more (but not exclusively) applicable to business.
I also found particularly useful the prioritising quadrant system - and that we should aim to spend the majority of our time in quadrant 2 - what is non-urgent but important. This has been really helpful in my everyday life and has prevented me procrastinating so much.
I agree with some of the reviewers that the author is not the most gifted narrator, yet he is very clear. I also think it is important that the author brings in his own spiritual belief into his writings because that is what he believes underpins his lessons. If a reader disagreed with this point, it does not detract from the other lessons in the work.
