About this listen
The downloadable, digital audiobook edition of Rick Yancey’s gripping epic, read by the actors Phoebe Strole and Brandon Espinoza.
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: Trust no one. Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave.
On a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, until Cassie meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan may be her only hope for rescuing her brother and even saving herself. Now she must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up. Cassie Sullivan gets up.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Not sure, it's a good story but I only enjoyed Cassie's part of the narration and found the other half to be boring.Would you be willing to try another book from Rick Yancey? Why or why not?
When I listened to the first part of this I was already searching for the sequel but having finished now I'm not sure I would bother with it.Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes, but the female narrator was far superior and I felt drawn into the character of Cassie. The first person narration helped.Could you see The 5th Wave being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
Yes I think it could easily be a film for young adults.Any additional comments?
Overall a decent story but I only loved half of it - the female narrated parts telling Caaie's story. I can see why the writer split the story - so we get a different perspective on things, but really I would rather have just followed Cassie for the whole story. I found her story moving and believable.Could have been much better
