About this listen
When duty and desire clash, fated mates are caught in the middle.
Cash's loyalty to his pack is unwavering. He'd sacrifice anything to protect his packmates. Do anything to keep them safe. Put their needs above his own...always.
It is the life he was born for, and the one he's worked years to achieve. As an Enforcer, he swore an oath to his alpha: pack before self.
Not once has he regretted his choices.
Until an injured eagle shifter lands in his lap, and his protective instincts get torn in two.
He knows he can't risk the safety of his pack...no matter what his panther demands. Once the little bird is all healed up, Cash will have to send him on his way.
For the good of his pack.
But dark, frightened eyes and a sweet smile call to his cat in a hungry, possessive way and challenge everything he's ever thought he knew.
For the first time in his life, he might just have to put himself first.
Tempest is the first book in the Silver Oak Pack series, set within the Kincaid Pack Universe but able to be listened to and enjoyed completely on its own. It features an overly protective panther trapped by his own responsibility-driven morals, an eagle who can't remember much but knows the surly cat makes him feel spine-tingling safe, magical tattoos, skinny dipping, a delicious age-gap, gobs of scenting, and a swoon-worthy happily ever after.

Swoony pairing
If I can’t have more Kincaid Pack, I’ll happily take the Silver Oak Pack. A pack of cats who live largely in isolation. With a newer Alpha in charge, and the chaos of the council being dismantled, it has made the pack a bit unsure about how to move forward. That is, until an eagle shifter lands in their territory, clearly in need of protection.
Not to mention that Cash and Ore are fated. But regardless of the fact that they are fated, these two take their time, and it’s a swoony as it sounds. Dating and learning about each other, building a strong relationship beyond their connection. It’s a warm and protective story, and oh, so sweet. And it brings so much hope to the pack. Not to mention, lots of opportunities for more great stories.
I’m also pleased to tell you that Kiki has continued with Kirt Graves as the narrator. He’s a fantastic talent who has done a wonderful job with our action-packed shifters.

Interesting new pack
I really enjoyed the first book in this new series. A few of the characters had been introduced in The Mobsters mate and a couple of familiar ones from the Kincaid pack. This was a great story with excellent narration x

Dynamic performance!
I love a size difference and grumpy/sunshine pairing and Cash and Ore are wonderful (when they finally get together!).
Kiki's writing is witty and fast paced and she always leaves hints and teasers for other pairings, stories and all the addictive intrigue we've come to love from a Kiki Clark series!
I'm looking forward to Saint's book and more of Jorge and the other fabulous characters and cameos!!
A great read!

Entertaining!
The plot is on the light side, the characters are great and the romance was sweet. In short, an enjoyable read with a very good narration!

Loved It
Loved the book can’t wait for the rest of the series on audio. Hopefully it’s gonna be just as good as the Kincaid Pack series.

New spicy paranormal shifter series
I’ve been waiting with bated breath for this book ever since a prequel set in the Silver Oak Pack appeared in the (superb) Fated Mates anthology, and sure enough, our faithful author did not disappoint. Age gap, size difference, resisting fate (and ending up falling head over heels anyway), found family and incendiary spice - all these are classic hallmarks of Kiki's books but each new one continues to innovate, surprise and delight. Cash and Ore had my heart from the very beginning and as with the Kincaid Pack series (which this shares a universe with, but as a standalone series), the world their story is set in is so rich and complex and full of a vibrant tapestry of characters - both familiar (to established readers) and brand new to everyone, I can't wait to get to know more of the pack with each subsequent book. I've got both the book and audiobook, and trusted narrator Kirt Graves has once again brought the world and characters to life delightfully.

Great start to a spinoff series
Cash and Ore were absolutely perfect for each other.
Both have been hurt in the past and are leery of putting their hearts through that pain again.
While there's danger all around, they slowly get to know one another while attempting to fight the pull to each other as fated mates.
Cash was extremely protective of Ore which makes sense because he's a pack enforcer and Ore is just the sweetest, gentlest soul.
Kirt Graves did an amazing job narrating and bringing these characters to life.

Back to the fun world
Story: Despite the series being a spin-off of a well known world, I was really curious about the dynamic of the new pack and how would the author approach the introduction. I liked the choice she made and the perspective of a stranger that was Ore was a very good option in my opinion.
The book is dynamic, well written and well paced. Loved the MCs and loved their conflicted emotions. There's something very inviting to me in fated mates stories where the bond and love is not instant.
Looking forward to seeing where the series goes next for sure!
Narration: Very good performance. Just right for the tone of the book.
