About this listen
Adria, wolf changeling and resilient soldier, has made a break with the past. Now comes a new territory and a devastating new complication: Riaz, a SnowDancer lieutenant already sworn to someone else.
For Riaz, the primal attraction he feels for Adria is a staggering betrayal. For Adria, his dangerous lone-wolf appeal is beyond sexual. It consumes her. It terrifies her. It threatens to undermine everything she has built of her new life. But fighting their wild compulsion toward one another proves a losing battle. Their coming together is an inferno...and a melding of two wounded souls who promise each other no commitment, no ties, no bonds. Only pleasure. Too late, they realise that they have more to lose than they ever imagined. Drawn into a cataclysmic Psy war that may alter the fate of the world itself, they must make a decision that might just break them both.

I adore the love stories and the strength of the characters!
The many worlds built by the author and the developing relationships between them really crescendo to climax in this book! 11 books in I’m so excited to start book 12 after this cliff hanger we’ve been left on.

Unexpected
I was surprised by this one, the mating bond is a big thing throughout these books, so for a story to be based around the fact a pack member had found but could no be with his mate seemed an unusual choice, nevertheless I enjoyed this story

One of my favourite’s
Read, listened to multiple times. A ‘go to’ on many occasions. Nice to see an alternative to the mating bond. Just goes to show, it isn’t always that fairytale. However, love and bonds were still formed from their human side with their wolves in full agreement.

Left my head spinning
I like the seemingly main strand of the storyline. I empathised with the struggle that R and Adria had to find their happiness and the pain they had endured at the notion of their mates. I wasn't quite sure though initially as Nalini had been so precious about the idea of mates that it is difficult to comprehend how these two strong personalities can last without the mating bond.
However there where too many other strands which over powered what this book was supposed to be about so much that the story it's supposed to be about gets lost amidst all that. There where lots of times I felt I didn't know which characters the author was going on about. Whilst it was a good reminder, they did not warrant so much air time of their own to the extent that I thought this was a book about Sienna and Hawk. There was also an introduction of so many other new characters, I've never known a book to hold so many people that at times I struggled to get back into the story or I Daydreamed about other stuff so much that I lost chunks of the story I was listening to but did not feel compelled to go back and make sense of it all. There was something a bit clunky and clumsy about the way Nalini wrote this book that just was out of character.
Nonetheless I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series. I can only hold hope that they are as good as earlier books
