Talulla is ready to give birth, but is still grieving, in fact she doesn't feel like she can bond with her child once it arrives. The vampires are still looking for her and it's almost a full moon.

Great continuation of the Last Werewolf story - a fully realised fantasy with consistent vision, strong characters and beautiful, interesting writing. Feels like a third act is required!

Not sure how this novel would work if you hadn't read (or listened to) the first, "The Last Werewolf", but I really enjoyed it, and am looking forward to the next!

I enjoyed the first book but the 2nd seem a little focused on the sex. That aside it is entertaining... a little more of Remshee would have been good, though his introduction did cause plot gaps, when you realise what he let happen...
but I was entertained.

This is the second book in the trilogy I have the first two but sadly you can't get hold of the third book (By Blood we Live) on Audiobook (I am dyslexic so find the book hard to follow if I read it). Hoping one day they will release it here!

Superb

Absolutely loved the first one in this series, but this one let’s itself down for me. I have trouble believing that’s it’s even the same author if I’m honest. Reads like a teen novel and the female narrators voice is acidic. This was a struggle to finish and a massive disappointment after the first one. Thankfully the third part of the trilogy isn’t available as audio, so I’m spared that at least. Sorry.

following Tallula after Jakes death is a good idea, but it lacks Jake's character and turn of phrase that makes the first book so good. the performance is good but not special enough to make up for the lack of action and suspense.

The first book was interesting. By turns violent and crude but still feeling very much a fresh take on werewolves in the modern day. It felt like a book the author had wanted to write for a long time. This book feels like a sequel that was forced out of the author or one that was written by someone else. The heroine is not particularly likeable and characters from the first book are resurrected in unlikely ways. The character veers into ideas of feminism but then gets rescued by men all the time. At one point the heroine, with no appreciation of irony, saves herself with an eyebrow pencil. And if that isn't enough the author uses the deus ex machina to get the protagonist out of the scrapes they get into. Hopefully the third installment will eventually turn it around but the goodwill from the first book is thoroughly used up by this one.
