About this listen
Someone is watching me. Luckily, my mountain man is watching over me.
Hope:
I didn’t think they would find me here. I moved to the small town of Whiskey River three months ago, hoping I would finally be safe from my past. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I can breathe easier.
Then I meet the mountain man who makes my breath quicken. And my heart race.
He’s my protector–safe in his strong arms.
But my past is coming for me…and he might end up paying the price.
Cash:
The tracks along the treeline were my first clue. I might not have experience with women, but I know my way around the woods. And Hope is not safe living out here alone.
And I’m pretty sure that’s my fault.
Her stalker knows I have money, and that I’ll pay any price to keep the woman I love safe from harm.
But what her stalker doesn’t know is that I plan on making them pay instead.

Contemporary Romance
Take Me to the Lake by Kaci Rose is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Elizabeth Russell and Bryant Walker. This is the third book in the Mountain Men of Whiskey River series.
This is the third book of Kaci's that I have read, and it won't be my last. The relationship between Cash and hope is fast paced but I really enjoyed them together. I liked that we got Cash, Hope, Emily and Bennett's points of view throughout the book.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Take Me To The Mountain to be released on audio so I can get Willow and Bennett's story.
Elizabeth and Bryant did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like contemporary romances.

My Thoughts on Take Me to the Lake
Another enjoyable story by Kaci Rose. This time the story features newcomer to town Hope, and mountain resident Cash who recently experienced a loss. Cash was a very interesting character for me. He was uniquely sheltered by his brother and yet was kind and open to new things in a way that made him endearing. Hope on the other hand hadn’t been sheltered nearly enough in her youth, which gave her an independent approach to life but also had her protecting herself from certain experiences out of fear of history repeating itself. It all made for a very entertaining story with likeable characters and a quick-moving plot that was hard to put down for me.
Just as good as the story in my opinion was the narration. I found both narrators to be quite good, but the female narrator in particular really stood out with her southern accent. It drives me a little crazy when a character is described as having an accent, but the narrator can’t quite pull it off. That was not the case here. I’m definitely going to continue with this series and will also hope to hear both narrators again in future.

Another Whiskey Riven Man finds his one!
It’s been a while since I visited with the mountain men of Whiskey River Montana and their woman almost hand made for each of them. I would love to come across this awesome group of friends who have made a family all of their own.
Kaci Rose shows us Cash and Hope’s story in this latest book. These two innocents seem to have found their one in each other.
I really like that these men of the mountains are older and innocent in having never been with a woman before. They are gentlemen who seek solitude in their lives yet also want the friendship of the other men who have formed a connection to each other. As each gets their own happily ever after in the woman who become part of the group, I want each and every one of them to find their own special person.
Cash is surprisingly well rounded for being brought up by his paranoid brother. And now that’s he’s on his own and having to learn how to do things. It’s awesome to see Hope just know that’s his situation after watching him in the supermarket. Hope is also surprisingly stable after her rough upbringing with her druggie mom. I love women who can pull through rough pasts and make something of themselves and Kaci writes strong, spunky women who are like that!
As these two learn to trust each other. They are really no different than any couple out there. Each has pasts that take that trust and test it. What couple doesn’t?
I really do love this small group of people who are family to each other and I want to hear Bennett’s story next.
The narration was great. Russell showed us how self sufficient and open Hope is. She is an inspiring woman. Taking control of her life and making it on her own in her own way. When her past comes knocking, Cash and his group of friends are there to protect her. Bryant Walker brings us Cash, who is open to learning new things when his brother leaves him alone after his death. He sees the chance for a real life when he finds Hope and opens up to her.
Loving these mountain men, their women and the little family they have formed together.

Great
This is a great storyline. With both these characters finding their perfect partners. Add in a bit of drama and action you have the perfect escape. A great performance.

Another it for the series!
I am loving every bit of these mountain men and their strong but somehow in distress… they are fun to read or listen. Cash is lonely after his brother’s death and has issues of his own but he found his ever after. Love it! The voices make the story even smoother to enjoy.

I loved dual narration of Elizabeth Russell and Bryant Walker, just perfect
When his brother died Cash thought he would be alone. That's is until he meets Hope. Hope is a book editor who is looking for a change. These two were made for each other as they work to find their happiness. Hope's past catches up with her, with Cash be able to keep her safe?

Cash & Hope!
Oh these men on Whiskey River! Every one steals my heart. This time we go to the lake, and I can tell you, it's worth the trip! Cash though after the death of his brother, he would be alone. When he meets Hope, an editor who is looking for a change, he knows his life is taking a turn for the better. These two were made for each other as they work to find their happiness. But as Cash's brother was always paranoid, now things around the cabin began to show he may have been right. As Hope's past catches up with her, with Cash be able to keep her safe? And would she be happy to stay on Whiskey River? Kaci Rose gives another fun and adventurous story, as these two find their way. The suspense builds, and we get to see our friends from the first two books in the series which always makes the listen even better. This is a fun one and should not be missed!
Elizabeth Russell and Bryant Walker are our storytellers and they are such a great team! Russell falls into Hope, giving her that feistiness that is her! She has a bit of baggage, and Russell lets her voice show the anger and frustration she feels. Walker has a smooth, alluring voice, perfect for Cash. He is a protective and loving, using the nuances to let us know just how Cash is feeling. These two are wonderful and created an enjoyable listen!

Past lurking in the tree line
Book 3 of the Mountain Men Series by Kaci Rose. This is the story of Hope and Cash. Hope a southern belle, ran from Georgia when she turned 18. She learned to take care of herself. One day she ends up in Whiskey River. She meets Jana who works at the cafe in town. Hope uses the cafe/grocery store internet for work. Cash happens to come into town to buy some supplies. You could tell he was out of place trying to shop. Hope decided to help him out. They quickly became friends to lovers then moved in together all with in a couple weeks. Hope and Cash get a feeling someone is watching them. Hope's past finds her and kidnaps her. Cash enlists the rest of the guys on the mountain, plus a new guy we get a glimpse to find her.
The story was good. Hard to believe to believe some things about Cash and his ways. Never had a girl friend but one kiss he was an expert lover. It felt like it started out him being not as educated about some things and the next minute he was an expert.
Over all the story was good just a few what moments that had me thinking huh.. But you may find that it doesnt bother you.
As far as the narrators. Both are new to me.
Elizabeth's southern belle voice made Hope sound older and middle-aged and not a young 18 year.I wanted to give it a chance and the story was great. However her other voice fluxuations for the side characters were great.
Bryant was great as well. Nailed it as Cash.
I am going to check out more for both narrators..
I can't wait for Bennett's story. But honestly, Cole and Jana's story is one I am really looking forward to.
Grab this book you won't regret it.
