About this listen
A breathtakingly beautiful supermodel disappears from a swimsuit photo shoot at the most glamorous hotel in Hawaii. Only hours after she goes missing, Kim McDaniels's parents receive a terrifying phone call. Fearing the worst, they board the first flight to Maui and begin the hunt for their daughter.
...will never be...
Ex-cop Ben Hawkins, now a reporter for the LA Times, gets the McDaniels assignment. The ineptitude of the local police force defies belief - Ben has to start his own investigation for Kim McDaniels to have a prayer. And for Ben to have the story of his life.
...the same for you again.
All the while, the killer sets the stage for his next production. His audience expects the best - and they won't be disappointed. Swimsuit is a heart-pounding story of fear and desire, transporting you to a place where beauty and murder collide and unspeakable horrors are hidden within paradise.

Great Read
First read by this author and I wasn't disappointed. Kept me in suspense till the very end. Well read and a great thriller to boot. Will read more by this author.

Runs out of steam
listened to this book and it kept me hooked most of the way through. The story has a lot of unexpected twists and turns and genuinely shocks in places. As the end was nearing I feel the author had to wrap things up to fast and ran out of ideas. The ending was a disappointment but overall a really good book.

swimsuit - vague title
what a brilliant book - I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this and even listened late into the night to see what happened next. The only vague part of the book is the title "Swimsuit" which was only mentioned once or twice - apart from this it was not the main theme of the book so I feel an more appropriate title would better. If you want good suspense and detail this is the book for you and it has certainly got me into james patterson. Will certainly listen to more of his audiobooks.

Any additional comments?
This was the fourth Audio Book I have listened to by Patterson and I'm happy to report that unlike some other authors who become formulaic this was certainly not the case with Swimsuit. The plot line varies from other pieces like 1st to Die, Sail and Mistress, brilliant in it's detail and totally gripping. Having a great author is one thing, but without a convincing narrator the story can become tedious to listen to , Christian Rummel was the coup de gras to a fantastic production. Thank you both for the wonderful entertainment

Not up to Patterson's normal standard
I personally found this book a disappointment. The storyline was a good one but for me the writing seemed almost clumsy, not what you'd expect from an author of Patterson's pedigree. The sex scenes were particularly clumsy, right down to the point of making the villain well-endowed to ease his seduction of his victims.
But the lumbering plotline was made worse for me by the narrator, whose inflections often missed the mark, with his attempts at female characters weak and often distracting. I only got 3/4 through this book before I gave up; I didn't care about any of the characters, even the victims, who were mostly portrayed as spoilt, promiscuous children.
I won't be in a hurry to try another Patterson novel.

Frustrated!
This book drove me to distraction. A barely believable plot mixed with crude coincidences and an ending which left me wondering if the 7 hours could not have been better spent hanging by my thumbs!
The story started off well enough, but by the time it got to the ?twist? it had become very contrived and almost comic like. The recurring thought I had all the way through was ?what are the chances??..
The narration was punctuated by hundreds of unnecessary chapters often in the middle of the storyline. I?m not saying the narrator didn?t do a good job, he is after all only there to read what is in front of him, but there was no need for this interruption on top of the general frustration.
The ending was stunningly unremarkable and had me wondering if the author was as frustrated as I was and decided to finish as abruptly as possible and move on before his dinner got cold.
But what do I know? Lots of other reviewers will think this is a riveting listen and multiple awards will follow???..it?s probably just me being a bit pedantic.

Cheese.
This was just another hammy Patterson book. However, the ham factor in this one was ramped up 10 fold due the terrible narration. Tip for Christian: Dont act the book, just read it. And when reading a womans part, dont put on a cakey womans voice....who do you think you're reading to? A 6 year old!
