A brutally honest description of the humiliation, desperation and struggle people face when addicted and what it takes to overcome addiction. This book evaluates the research showing why some addicts had the odds stacked against them from an early age, even when coming from a seemingly stable background. Finally it shows how our society encourages alcoholism and discriminates against the sober. A beautifully written and narrated book .
