I think this is a fine book, but I didn't get pulled into the story and invested in the romance as much as I would have liked to. I did like Drake, the male main character, and his cluelessness about earthly behavior. But I didn't particularly got attached to Laurie, the female main character. They were both sweet though, but the chemistry was just a little off for me.
I still think that if you are a space-shifter romance lover, you will likely find the story good, as the writing and story pacing are good.

This is my first book by Michelle M Pillow & it was enjoyable with some humorous aspects.
Where Dragon Shifter Dimosthenis from the Planet Qurilixen & he decides to risk the life as he knows it by sneaking out through the portal that the Royal Family's Human Wives go out to visit their family & that's what he does & enters into the French District of New Orleans. But he then discovered a small Cajun village, where he rescued the life of Ursa a Widow who was at the end of her tether & then other members of the area like the police chief & they KNOW his Real Name & his Species & that's why they changed his name to 'Drake'
But it's when Photographer Lori is out in the swamps with 'Big Daddy' to take photos of the Alligators & this Lizard Man she heard about & this is when her & Drake's lives turnaround.
And this is when we see the humorous vocabulary that is coming

Drake comes to earth often. When he finds a woman and saves her, he doesn’t know she is a writer who might out him. She is his mate but will she be willing to be with him, and understand his world? A short story with great characters and a happy ending. I Enjoyed it!

I found myself needing to take my mind off things last week as I rushed my dog from one vet to the emergency animal hospital. Stranded with the Cajun was the perfect distraction to keep me occupied and ease my worries. I was particularly distracted by the initiation rituals performed to initiate Drake as a Cajun :)

Drake, had all but given up on finding a mate so he traveled to Earth to look for a bride despite this being reserved for the dragon princes.
Lori ventured into the bayou in an evening to take sunset photos for the travel story she was writing but captured more than she bargained for.
An enjoyable addition to the series. Enjoyable characters, good pace and engaging tale.

Stranded with the Cajun is another fun, entertaining novella by Michelle M Pillow with engaging, likeable characters. The community in the Bayou is very protective of Drake and when Lori arrives, they are quick to try to get her to stay away from him. However, they are destined to be together and even Mr Howards can’t stop them. This is the first book I have listened to narrated by Sarah Pavelec and she really makes each character come alive. Excellent narration and this book can be read or listened to as a standalone!
