About this listen
Meanwhile, village life in Burracombe is enlivened by the new Drama Club, formed by the energetic young curate Felix Copley. Almost everyone becomes involved in the pantomime he decides to organise, with some hilarious results - and a tragic issue.
©2007 Lilian Harry (P)2007 SoundingsThe story was pretty good but not as good as the previous book in this series as I found parts of it irritating. I loved the visit to Tavistock Goosey Fayre, Jacob’s visit, and the pantomime, all very entertaining. However, I found the Hilary and Colonel Napier parts particularly galling and kept skipping them - the way he treats his own daughter is so annoying. The characters are all so well rounded and very likeable, apart from Stella herself, who I continue to find a complete wet lettuce and pointless as a character. I honestly have no idea what Felix sees in her.
Narration was first class, story was pretty good
