About this listen

In a realm full of secrets, she’s collecting them all.

A choice to make.

Tessalyn Ausra’s fate has always been out of her hands. Still bonded to the Heir of Endings, she now finds herself with more control than ever before. Everyone wants something from her, and she has to choose a side. But in a realm full of villains, she trusts no one, and she has secrets of her own to keep.

A plan to salvage.

Control and knowledge have always been Theon St. Orcas’s greatest weapons, but both have slipped through his fingers. Given a task by the rulers of the realm, he’s racing against the clock to get his plans back on track. But as myths become reality, he finds himself fighting more than time in an effort to keep what’s his or lose it all to fury.

A fate to alter.

Axel St. Orcas has never minded rubbing shoulders with the depraved rather than the elite. It’s easier to hide his shame among the corrupt. But with each passing day, he risks triggering a curse and endangering those he cares for most. He’ll sacrifice anything to keep them safe, even if that means giving up everything he is.

Who will be left standing when Chaos comes to reign? Storm of Secrets and Sorrow is book two of four in The Legacy Series.

This is a new adult, dark fantasy romance series with elements that may be triggering to some listeners. Please be sure to check the updated content information. Seriously. We know the MMC is a morally gray, walking red flag. Listen to the content information, then embrace the darkness.

The definition of Loathing MFC …

Cringing —at how much one can loath a female lead. Tessa is the definition of “ME! ME! ME!” The slow burn was perfect, however, if not for “TESSA”
These flawed characters are refreshing. But for “TESSA”

I guess most can tell I am not endeared to “TESSA” Jesus only knows, I tried. Irrespective of her Trauma-Drama … I simply Loooove this story without annoying Tessa and all.

From “Lady of Darkness” series to this “The Legacy” series I’ve read them all and now I’m fiening for more.

Great story.
Good narration.

Repeated visions

Would give this a much higher review but it has my most hated trope in it A LOT - repeated dream/vision/memory. And not a short one. I literally felt myself wanting to skip the next 5mins after I’d heard the same scene 6 times. So dull for the listener and self indulgent writing. Better ways to do it.

3.5 more enjoyable than the first book & I’m left more intrigued

Overall a good solid second book but I did feel like more questions were raised than answered but I appreciate we are only half way through the series! Again it’s strange to like a book when you don’t like both the main characters!! Hoping to enjoy the third book & receive some answers

More luca

This is more fun than the first for sure. I love having more Luca in the story. Tessa is probably winning gold in most annoying fmc ever. She’s incredibly hard to relate to, behaving like a child throughout, refusing to see beyond herself and her own problems. The forced British accent makes it way worse unfortunately. I think this story is unique and def a page turner but it’s getting a little too much and snooze-festy with the long conversations about gods and lineages and whatnot.

What?!!!!!!

This is the definition of slow burn which I won't lie is very much starting to get under my skin. I'm also now routing for two male leads in Tessa's story. I cannot get my head around the way this series is going. It's so intense and clever and infuriating. If feelings aren't admitted at least in book three, I'm going to be really mad about having to wait for book four!

Intriguing

I AM intrigued to know what will happen next, but I’m not entirely sure I care about Tessa anymore. While I get why I’m finding her difficult to relate to, it’s also a bit annoying to not care much. I REALLY want to adore her, I just don’t. There are others I adore, others who I really want to succeed. Also the ridiculous faux British accents for the Fae and Tessalyn make my eye twitchy. Awful. It’s a shame as the narrators to a fantastic job except for that. I’m guessing it’s a bad directional choice as the fae aren’t referred to as British anywhere! I love the wolves and want to know more. There are witches who make me want to know their stories, the underground sounds fascinating, beings with bows and arrows who dance in fire and ash who should have their own sagas… I LOVE a flawed hero/heroine and find myself wanting some of the side characters to really shine. It’s a good book, I just need a break before I face Tessalyn’s brand of rebellion again.

Only bought it for Laura

Love Laura and tried so hard with book one that I thought - it's gotta get better. I thought we were having a Tamlin moment. I was waiting for redemption, I was waiting for a common sense reaction. Bond or not. It was so long, and I love long books. I got 8 hours in and had to DNF it.

I'm all for angst, I love a good character arc. I was trying so hard to find the good. Initially I loved the flawed personalities. It was refreshing to see to be honest. But the whole "Can't tell you anything because I don't trust you" gets really old when it's been over 30 hours listening. JUST EXPLAIN WHY YOURE DOING WHAT YOURE DOING! Even to the reader. A bit of backstroke at this point!

Anyway, regrettably I had to return. If I find myself not listening, or wanting to skip - I just lose interest! Gutted
