About this listen
Though a series of steps, Dr. Odessky will propose a framework to overcome fear-driven thinking and help you break into your fear-wise life!
Stop Fear from Stopping You is about the fear that is so prevalent that it often lies dormant in the way of our dreams, career paths, and relationships. This fear creates stories that cushion us from potential pain and failure - at the cost of our self-esteem, success, growth, and personal happiness.
Because fear is complex, we cannot afford to merely be fearless. Just “letting go” is not the answer. The real solution lies in learning to become fear-wise. In this inspirational book, Dr. Odessky will show you how to harness the wisdom behind your fears and break through the barriers that block your success.
Stop Fear from Stopping You is the perfect gift for women and men struggling with fear. It is designed to help you:
- Identify the fears that stand between you and your goals
- Develop tools to overcome your fears
- Develop a value-based plan to pursue your goals
- Change your relationship with fear and learn to become fear-wise

imperfect decision is better than no decision and it’s okay to give yourself permission to course correcting as you go.
The audiobook is superior to the text version. Taking roughly an 1 hour to read on 1.7x speed. It felt like a wake up call from a future me begging me to become her. Give it 2-3 listens for things to click.
I recommend this to anyone willing to confront their excuses. If you’re tired of waking up to a life half lived knowing you are destined for more, not knowing where to start.
Do you need this book? No. But if having it on in the background can help you take action on things you regret not starting or sticking to, give it a go.
The cost of inaction is a life unlived.

Becoming chronically ill at 29 years old led me down a path of self discovery I never could have imagined and 16 years later I am still putting myself back together. It hit hard to realise how fear and trauma had played a significant part in my illness and does in most people with chronic illness, whether consciously or subconsciously. The nervous system is key and this book does resonate a lot with me and the underlying fear that has ruled me since birth. Being aware of something is the first step to healing it.
The book does go into other areas that didn’t especially apply to me personally (like fear of public speaking) but are still useful and can be applied to other situations. I don’t like public speaking being introverted and not a ‘people person’ but I can do it when I need to. It is paralysing for some however and it’s always good to be able to delve into the underlying reasons for things.
We all face challenges and hurdles in life, it’s just a case of whether we can learn to jump them, go around them or go back the other way that determines our life’s direction. I recommend listening to this and practicing jumping.
Absolutely worth while listen
