Loved the narration of CB Parkes

Ember is a teacher, who has strong opinions, breaks rules and litte bit scatty. Who finds herself waiting for a police officer to arrive at an JoyMart office for shoplifting.
Officer Jacob Jones, is a man of steel, but he is not ready for Ember. Will she break his walls or will he make her walk a straighter path.
This two are full of desire for each other, and their story is full of tension, desire and chemistry.

This was a fun book. Ember and Jacob definitely had a lot of chemistry and I appreciated that the author was able to keep the slow burn going right until the end. You also got the impression they really liked and respected each other, and shared values, which I enjoy in a romance.

I am definitely curious about what happens next with these characters. I think I spied a budding connection between two of the side characters which I hope the author is planning to explore!

The narrator was perfect on the FMC's chapters. She gave the character so much life. For the MMC, she was still decent but just not quite as good. I think it might also have had to do with the character himself, who was calmer. So I do think she did a good job of portraying him but I just had so much fun with her portrayal of Ember.

This was a sweet, and caring story. Well written, and a perfect place to explore themes such as consent, caring for others, feminine competition and teenage bullying with long term effects. I liked this.
