Years ago, an overachieving and harried young mother accidentally flushed her gold watch down the toilet. Time passed, but the image of the lost watch continued to haunt her, a symbol of an overcommitted life. I enjoyed the book thoroughly, but thought the performance could have been better. Still, I would not discount it based on the performance. It is an inspiring account of a woman’s experience on the Camino. One that made me consider the pilgrimage in earnest.

I walked the Camino 2013, the story brought back beautiful memories. The early starts, the silence, eucalyptus forests and the people. Marvellous just simply marvellous.

Great to read about the Camino from a woman's perspective!
I loved this book which explored so many issues and questions about pilgrimage. I found the intonation of the narrator a little irritating but the intelligent captivating content was too good to miss.

I first heard of the Camino a couple of years ago when I watched a program on television about a group of people who walked it and I was captivated. This of course was designed for television but made me wish I had done it when I was younger(I’m 76 with athritic knees and a heart complaint)
Then I read this glorious book, with its joy, sadness, pain and peace, friendship and fun and exhaustion and excitement and disappointment. The real “humaness”and I pined for her loss at the end of her marathon until she made me realise that I have walked my Camino, my life has been it . Thankyou for writing this beautiful book
