About this listen

The Night Lords - traitors and killers who use fear as a weapon - face threats from within and without as they struggle to rebuild their Legion and continue to fight the Long War.

Listen to it because:

It's an assured and confident second novel from Aaron Dembski-Bowden that kicks off one of the most acclaimed and beloved series in Black Library history - and it's a chance to see the Long War from the Night Lords' perspective!

The story:

The Night Lords were once among the most potent forces of the Imperium, Space Marines who used fear itself as their weapon. Now, cast adrift from the Emperor's light and hunted as heretics after their monstrous betrayal, the Night Lords clad themselves in symbols of death and fight the Long War, bringing pain and terror to all who worship the corpse-god of Terra.

A summons from Warmaster Abaddon sends these rebels on a dangerous journey that leads inexorably to a conflict with the Emperor's chosen warriors, the Blood Angels.

Written by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. Running time 13 hours and 5 minutes. Narrated by Andrew Wincott.

Great story, with amazing narration

Truly a great story, especially because of the main focus being on the night lords. I love it, and can’t wait to see how the continuation follows up.

A great series

It took me a little time to get used to the narration, but I put this down to the fact that I'd already started the book and was half way through. A great series overall, I've not been disappointed so far.

The best book I have ever read.

Just read it. It’s absolutely the best 40k book I have ever read, maybe even the best book in general.

Ave Dominous Nox

I love the Night lords trilogy and the anti heroes of First Claw. This story gives good insight into the lives of the traitor legions and The Night lords are probably my favourite legion so to hear of the long war from their perspective rather than from that of the Imperium is refreshing. looking forward to Blood Reaver now.

A good Chaos book.

Really enyojed this book. My only critique would be the lines of the Blood Angels. They're quite dull, the usual "for the emperor!" stuff. Would've prefered some more character put in them.
Apart from that, it was overall really good.

Good start look forward to the rest

It's a really interesting story. Not listened to much with nightlords as the main focus and can't wait to continue the story. Was suggested to listen to it by Bricky and was not disappointed. Well worth getting.
