Good intro guide

This is a waste of credit for anyone who's played an instrument or studied any music theory. This book is only for those who know absolutely nothing about making music. But as an introduction it goes by too fast and would be better if the reader had all the theory stuff on paper in front of them. Can't imagine how anyone who doesn't know a thing about music theory could keep up with the theory part with nothing but audio. So if it's not for music students and not for beginners either, who is it for?

The chapter about lyric writing was in fact good. It gives example and exercise that I could do to improve my lyrics writing. The rest of the information for the rest of the book was elementary at best. The writer could have gone in deeper about how all the elements ties together but instead he have chosen to teach basic music theory. This book is only good for very beginner that want to have a go at song writing and have no understanding of any music theory.
