About this listen
From the award-winning author of the Commune series and All Gifts Bestowed comes this mind-bending new science fiction novel.
As a high school sophomore, Aiden Kelly's biggest problems should be his failing grades, his abusive father, being a self-proclaimed loner, or getting pummeled by the football team. Instead, Aiden's number one dilemma is a guy named Tony, a senior who seems to know all sorts of things that should be impossible to know.
Oh, and he may also be a sociopath. So, you know: No. Big. Deal.
When Aiden crosses Tony's path in the vice-principal's office, they form a mysterious connection, and only Tony knows the truth about it. But as their friendship grows, the strings of destiny tying their lives together slowly begin to unravel with deadly consequences.
Now, Aiden must decide which is worse: to return to his degenerate, loner existence, or experience the friendship of a lifetime - where one of them might not survive.
With a heavy foot grounded in realism and characters that leap out of the audio, Something No One Knows is perfect for fans of The OA, Sense8, and The Butterfly Effect.

Worth sticking with it

Without giving away too much, this book is more the diary of a young man's journey through adolescence, overcoming a tough up-bringing with the help of a self imposed mentor and ultimately finding his place in the world.
There wasn't much of a plot driven story, it's written from the perspective of multiple people writing in their diaries. The plot 'device' took an age to reveal itself, and appears to be almost an aside, as the same book could have been written without the device. You might say that the plot device was added as an excuse an for the book to be written. It really felt as if the author had a lot to get off his chest and this book was a way to do this.
The book felt much too long, but the author always tends to use 100 words when 10 may have sufficed. There were a few occasions when I could have stopped as frustration with the slow pace set in, but being a fan of JG I stuck it out.
This book is very different from his other titles on Audible so don't expect anything of a similar genre to the Commune of Worldship series.
A tough listen - Not the same as JGs other books

An edgy High School hierachy tale, intense read.

Some books people rage about and say that it should be made in film.
To me, this should stay a book because, no one would do it justice.
Thanks once again Joshua Gayou.
