This one was the slowest of slow burns, with some very convoluted “twists” but nothing of any real substance. I got through it from sheer stubbornness and now I wish I hadn’t.

The male narrator had some really odd inflections and seemed to emphasise the wrong part of each sentence. He also made the women’s spoken parts sound whiny and screechy throughout. The female narrator was okay but she also seemed to have a strange urgency in her narration throughout so that the whole thing felt a bit overplayed

I didn't even finish this book as the story was so convoluted and drawn out it took all my patience to get half way through. The disparate threads started to make sense but I found the male narrator so awful I couldn't listen any more. He made the characters pantomime - like and it was so grating. I may have finished it if I had actually bought the book and read it ( but not sure!) but couldn't listen any more.

loved her first book. Struggled to get into this. The pay off was worth it . Tedious story. The male Narrator was dreadful!! Didn't help. Nothing original or particularly well written. My advice give it a miss!! Had high hopes. Sadly dashed. Really hope to never hear this male Narrator again!!
