I had the feeling straight away that Amber hadn’t betrayed Kai, but then when it jumped over to Ambers perspective and she thought he’d betrayed her I knew for certain they’d each been set up.
I realised at the crash why Amber was been hunted, particularly when Kai pointed out the “hunters” could have killed her but hadn’t. So it was funny when she met big Ralph and he tried and failed to explain things…although he seemed to think she’d just had a disagreement with her father, and not that she didn’t actually know who he was.
The book didn’t lack drama, suspense, action or spiciness, despite been a short book. I was just as impressed with this as I was with Sins of the Heart!
The narrator’s were on point again! I just love how they always differentiate between characters, and how they convey every emotion the characters have!
