Back when I was a new mom, there was not a lot of emphasis on self-care. The author has done a great job of addressing self-care and mindfulness during the chaotic phase of being a new mom. I remember feeling like I had lost a piece of myself with the demands of caring for a newborn. The book shares practical tips on incorporating mindfulness into daily routines and it felt like a breath of fresh air for me. I reflected on how different my motherhood journey could have been if I had known about these techniques and their importance back then.
The author really nailed it when she focused on banishing mom guilt. Mom guilt is real and the number one way we push our needs and wants away because we feel guilty. For me, I finally had booked myself a massage and my oldest is now 17 and I almost cancelled the appt because of the guilt.
I enjoy everything this book has to offer from the information to the mindfulness exercises, self-care activities and affirmations. This all-in-one book is amazing for all moms.
