Il tema della guerra venne poi da lui ripreso nel suo grande romanzo Guerra e Pace ed è, come si sa, affrontato da un punto di vista morale e religioso, senza però illusioni: la guerra, in qualche modo, piace agli uomini, sia per motivi intrinseci, legati alla loro natura, sia perché stimola la loro vanità , malattia scoppiata epidemicamente, come dice l’autore, ne XIX secolo. L’edizione di riferimento per questo audiolibro è Longanesi Editore, 1942. Cornice musicale: musica popolare caucasica.
