Yet another book I have lived listening to. I thought it a bit slow in the beginning but finally got the hang of it and loved it.

The narrator has been excellent in all of this author’s work, so much to say I wish she had done all of the books. However, I’m not sure what happened here. The protagonist and her mother started with the correct accents (mother USA and daughter USA/British) but throughoutthe book they became Cornish, Yorkshire, Roma, Jamaican, Scottish and a few more thrown in for good measure. At some points I was actually a bit confused who was talking.

Everything else enjoyable.

A very slow beginning turned into a marvellous mystery of intrigue and romance. I loved the way the characters were so well developed and the storyline was brought to a satisfying conclusion.

Having read several books by this author, I found this particular story rather disappointing as the story took a long time to develop and the narration was a little disturbing!
