About this listen

A gripping, fast-paced novella from the multi-million selling author of the John Milton series.

In the city of Cairo, a sandstorm is coming.

Group Fifteen operative and ex-MI6 officer Charlie Cooper is working undercover as a political negotiator. Attending a conference surrounded by diplomats, businessmen and lobbyists, nobody would suspect what he really does for a living. Also in their midst is Aisha, a Saudi activist whose protests against human rights abuses have made her an enemy of her country's regime.

It isn't just Cooper visiting Cairo under false pretenses. A hit squad has been sent to eliminate Aisha and their reputation precedes them. Cooper knows all too well that these men mean business and is given the order to take them out. But when he is told to use Aisha as bait, he starts to question what he is doing.

The hunt is on and the sandstorm is heading their way. Can Cooper eliminate the assassins before they reach Aisha? Can he keep her safe from harm without any means of escape?

A thriller without any thrills

Very thin story line - totally lacked suspense or any interesting twists in the plot. As the hero had to live on to star in the next book in the series, the outcome was never in any doubt!

Excellent Stuff

Well written & well narrated as always. Hoping that there will be more Group Fifteen side stories to follow soon.

Good story line

The narrator was excellent and the plot was short but good and as I got the audio at a discounted price good value.

Good short story

Enjoyable short story and like the characters. Same style as the John Milton series which I really enjoy too.

Pace of the story kept interest going.

I found this to be a good read. The pace was just right and kept me wanting to get to the next chapter. Enjoyed the storyline too!

Too short

I have listened to / read almost everything from Mark Dawson and enjoyed this story. However a credit either buys this book or one three times as long. So value for money this is three times worse. Please bundle multiple short stories. I will not be using credits on anything much less than 10 hours.

Very good short story

When purchased I did not realise I was paying 10 euros for a short story. Not value for money will pay more attention the next book I buy!

Didn’t want it to finish

A great read and big smile when shone familiar names entered the story.. Hope it interlinks with future Milton stories in future. Mark Dawsons John Milton series never disappoint.. Orphan X is second best

Greedy

As always (I am a massive Mark Dawson fan) very good but I feel cheated by the length of the book which still costs the same (1 audible credit) as the usual books that are circa 10 hours + long. It leaves a nasty taste in the mouth and is not how I think people should be treated that have bought all the John Milton/ Group Five/Isabella Rose/ etc.. books. The length doesn't allow the author to shine as brightly as in the longer books also.
