About this listen

Some people just knew how to go out in style. Tim had never been one of those guys.

Tim was always a planner. The plan was to get into college, graduate, and find a well-paying job.

That plan was coming together nicely until he saw a presentation to get paid to play The Etheric Coast. At his graduation ceremony.

After watching the company's employee recruitment video, Big Richie's words had a whole new meaning. He could spend his life going from a cubicle at work to a one-bedroom apartment and back again...or he could take a leap of faith by entering a virtual world of unlimited possibilities. And get paid.

Now he just has to figure out how to get the job of his dreams, help his parents financially, and catch the attention of the girl of his dreams.

It was time for him to catch his wave. Tim sure hoped it didn't kill him first.

There were like to obvious mistakes made with the characters abilities (not using them at the crucial part but used them almost every other time or should have used. But I will give the second book a go due to the amazing performance.

I liked the story and concept not the best I have read and the narrator can't seem to say Mana properly but it entertained me so overall it was a success.

Good concept

good start, builds well then somewhere in there later half I just lost the motivation for this and felt like I was grinding it out. I won't be doing the rest in this series sadly. Worth trying as it's free, and may tickle your fancy though.

worth trying

Initially I didn’t like the narrator - but gave it a go and actually got quite into the story for first few hours so am glad that did not stop me.
The story while quite slow is nice, there are a couple of mistakes but nothing major.
If the book had been 2/3 the length and the repetition and morality content was much more limited I would give 4-4.5*.
It’s getting really hard to listen to the last few chapters :-(

Nice story but very repetitive dialogue

it's all decent enough...just a bit boring and the voice work was reasonable but low effort.
