Jane's father was the founder of the Saints MC he brought Jane up alone, as her sole parent since her birth. There was a few years difference in their ages but that didn't stop Jane and Trace becoming close. As the daughter of the founder, she was off-limits but their connection was there nevertheless but Trace kept his true feelings buried deep.
Her father thought Jane could and should have more than an MC Club in her future and he didn't want her involved in his club. The plan was for Jane to go to college and become a doctor. But during a visit home her father was killed leaving her an orphan.
Growing up with the Saints was all she knew, leaving them behind was hard she was leaving a piece of her heart. But Jane can't forget her history and she goes back to the town she grew up in. She feels she has to pay the saints back for all they have done for her, they paid her medical school fees and were like her family. But since her father's death Trace has become the club president and all their buried feelings resurface.
While a relationship between them may be all wrong it feels right.
I enjoyed this book when I read it when it was first released but listening to it narrated so well and with so much feeling was a very moving and enjoyable experience. But be aware there are some steamy scenes so don't like me have the windows open in your car!
