About this listen

"I'm not your savior."

I didn't want to be worshiped like some deity—an instant replacement for the asuras. For so long, these people looked up to the asuras as gods, but the asuras kept trying to kill them.

Arthur Leywin has finally returned to the continent of Dicathen, but his home is still firmly in the hands of the enemy. His display of unprecedented power brings hope to his allies and fear to his enemies. It also deeply embroils him in a conflict between the godlike asuras, with Agrona Vritra on one side and Kezess Indrath on the other.

With the crimes of his past life haunting him in the form of the Legacy, Arthur can no longer afford to hone only his strength. He must also empower those closest to him or risk losing them all.

New narrator

The storyline is still on track and completely brilliant but I just can’t get behind the new narrator, I’ve listened to the last 9 books countless times and have come to associate certain voices with certain characters to the point that I can play them back in my head without the book, this new narrator just doesn’t capture the characters’ personalities the same way Travis Baldree does, I waited more than a year for this new book and I didn’t even recognise the characters’ voices, it’s disappointing. Great series definitely read/listen to the other 9 books just have to get used to new narrator.

Kyuuu

Perfect narration, even though it was weird with a new narrator all of a sudden she does a great job. Travis, on point, as always... And that ending is spectacular, the story in general. Can't wait for the next one...

Done it again

Another great addition to the series. Waited so long for this book to be released and the results were excellent brilliant story and brilliant narration.

Narration, character voices/tones are too different

Haven't finished the book yet while writing, but wanted to share my frustration with narration choices made for this book. While the new narrator is good, it's extremely frustrating listening to the new voices. Arthur sounds like a completly different person at times and I need to focus more to know who is talking. Just wish they could try to allign the tones of the characters more :(

The narration

Your woman Elizabeth evans is a good voice actor but I’d rather she didn’t speak and let travis do it all instead

The series just keeps getting better

If you have made it this far in the this series, this book will not disappoint you. 10/10 would read again.

Narration

I love this series and was very excited for Vol. 10 but the double narration was not a good move imo.
Elizabeth is a great narrator but after 9 volumes and re-listening to the series multiple times with the voices from Travis its quite jarring to hear the same characters with completely different voices after so long (especially Arthur) and it can be hard to tell which character is talking. I would listen to the volumes whilst working or driving but now it feels like I have to focus and really listen to tell who's talking. I'm only early into the volume so I'm sure Ill get used to it but I think it would have been better to have two narrators from the beginning rather than after 9 volumes

Very good

At first I was very disappointed with having two different voice actors, but I got used to it after around 10 chapters. Other than that, it was great! (plz release the next book already)

Another fantastic addition to the saga

Yet another gripping addition to the saga that I have gone over again and again every time a new book is released... The only thing for me that was jarring was Elizabeth Evans' addition to the narration. I have nothing against her, but after 9 books with Travis' wonderful narration, I, like many others have grown used to his voices for each of the characters and so Elizabeth's sudden addition this late into the story was incredibly jarring and even made it hard for me to focus on the story when she read. Again, nothing against her, but the addition here, this late, was an oversight in my opinion.

Otherwise, I literally cannot wait for the next book to come to Audible.
