I liked the story and the characters, didn’t really like the female narration was robotic I felt.

I loved the dual narration of Madeleine Dauer and Noah Michael Levine

Evie and Jax had been High school sweethearts. They had thought their lives had been mapped out and all would be good. Until Jax ended up enlisting to become a solder. Evie puts her own plans on hold and stays in the same small town and found herself facing down her own demons. Until Jax returns hurt both mentally and physically . There is twists and turns with surprises that keep guessing about the characters. Many different events that keep you wondering why. Amazing side characters.

Such a relevant piece of work, deep feels and well written. a difficult subject matter that is careful to touch on a hard hitting topic but retain the romance. I appreciated the author didn't cave with the characters falling into bed after such a trauma for Evie.

I enjoyed this book and found the narration excellent.
It covered a difficult topic which felt relevant making a change to the female being kidnapped.
I was a little disappointed with lack of detail at the end with a couple of l
“2months later” jumps . Leaving me feeling the end was rushed.
