I am an avid reader and listener of books mostly sci-fi and fantasy over the last twenty years I have read at least 100 such novels, mostly I read books from top 100 lists.

I downloaded this on a whim and had never heard of it, it was simply an Audible recommendation. The is my favourite audiobook so far and probably my favourite book. I really mean the series so far when I refer to this "book".

The humour around the first rule is amazing, refreshing and for me changes the Fantasy genre into something new just as I was finally beginning to tire of it believing I was beginning to see too many repeating themes.

I used audiobooks to help me sleep but I'm exhausted after power listening to these two books in one week. Can not wait for book 3 crack on Kel, really hoping this is a never ending saga akin to the Wheel of Time because I can not get enough!

Really liking the story. It's a little out there but that's fantasy right?

The narrator is 99% perfect. He just over does the whiney characters, and after a while it grates on you. Other than that he is brilliant.

I'm getting a little tired of the talented young man who gathers around him a group of trusty friends and then sets on a quest for glory against seemingly unbeatable odds. Despite that, I really enjoyed this. Couldn't say why, just well written and we'll performed.

Less cringey 'friend' logic which was my main complaint from the first book

Absolutely loved it. A total binge listen. It’s 2am and I’m currently downloading book 3. The characters have amazing depth and the story line just doesn’t let up. Awesome
