Soon after his high school graduation, Nigel Watson opens his cybersecurity investigative business. Trade is lucrative until he discovers some mysterious rouge code lurking on one of his client’s computers. On investigating, he finds clues leading to a sinister plot. A clandestine organization known as the Cabal learns of his involvement and makes Nigel an offer that he cannot refuse. However, while trying to save those closest to him, he unwittingly unleashes the most disruptive cyber-attack in history.

As the internet crumbles and communications are on the brink of total collapse, the flames of civil disobedience take root. This is a cyberattack so sinister that it threatens to unravel the fabric of the internet and society itself. Feeling ultimately responsible for the catastrophe, Nigel forges alliances with the most unlikely people imaginable to stop the spread of the nefarious code and the Cabal in its tracks.

This story has plenty of action and had me on the edge of my seat. I had no trouble getting into the plot, and I thoroughly enjoyed the character development. The fast-paced story had me completely engrossed, and I loved it!

The author's creative, fast paced mind is evident throughout what becomes a captivating and satisfying read. The story spans with enough shape turns and technical wizardry for any technophile plus enough cyber intrigue for any mystery lover; a rare combination that will make this audiobook appealing to a wide audience. I would love to see this as a movie. Highly recommend you listen to this audio, you won't regret it. A really awesome book!

It's a great story, I thoroughly enjoyed this book .there are some great characters in here as well as a gripping story line.The Teenaged girl has multiple personalities that tries to save a clandestine group known as the cabal from taking over the world. Nigel, the main character is fending off these attacks. if u love science ,cyborgs and that Kind of thing then I highly recommend u listen to this book

I enjoyed watching Nigel’s character grow from a nervous teen with some hacking skills to an adult. This is not only a coming-of-age story, but it’s a cautionary tale on how hacking can affect our daily lives in ways we didn’t expect.

The author did a good job in writing this up. It’s an action packed 9 hour listen of a character named Nigel who’s a high school graduate who grows up to be a cyber security investigation business. I don’t want to spoil it too much but this audiobook has mind-blowing plot that will definitely get you hooked after listening to just chapter 1!

This is the 4th book I've listened to by D.B. Goodin (or maybe the 5th - I guess it's a good sign that I'm losing count), and each one continues to add another dimension to the Cyber Teen universe.

As usual, you can expect lots of themes which touch close to home even in this fictional world. If you're a fun of hacking, cyberpunk and cybercrime this will be right up your street.

Josiah Clark is the perfect voice for this, because their voice really gives the characters the depth and breadth that they deserve.

I am in a book club (we meet to talk about the book we have read and enjoy some wine). This is a perfect book to discuss and analyse. The plot builds scene by scene, characters are built and all the while you are not sure if you are being sucked into a game yourself - what is real? You can break this book down into so many levels but underlying it all is a clever, clever plot and a story that captures you too. I am not going to give away the story/plot at all, you need to listen yourself - but I would suggest you read and listen to this quite brilliant book. After about 10 minutes you won’t stop..and you won’t know if it's a trick - which is, of course, the plot. There is so much I could say, but read it and maybe one day, we can compare notes on what we thought was really going on! It’s going to my book club!
