About this listen

Lacey Willow isn't just a witch. She's a bad one. Any attempt to use magic tends to end in quirky ways, which is why she owns a magic shop where people purchase amusing parlor tricks. When her new shop neighbor turns out to be a PI, Lacy is unprepared for the shenanigans that are about to go down. Soon, she finds herself accused of stalking, snooping around a funeral parlor, and dealing with hexes while she tries to clear her name.

Unfortunately this is a very ‘paint by numbers’ cosy mystery which, weirdly, just sort of trails to an end and stops without a real ending: almost as if the author ran out of time.

The reading is really wooden and I had to slow it down to 90% speed to make it bearable.

The plot is also a bit messy and it’s completely obvious what’s going on from the beginning, almost to the point where there isn’t really a mystery that they’re solving.

Not as good as this authors other works.
