About this listen
Center Logan Banks didn’t come to Miami looking for a best friend.
He came for football and for a chance at freedom—the freedom to live out of the closet.
But after a water main break, he lands an unexpected roommate, the new Piranhas kicker, Dylan Leonard. Between practices, games, and too many late nights on the couch, a best friend is exactly what he gets.
When Logan’s past rears its ugly head and outs him ahead of schedule, Dylan becomes more than just a friend. He becomes a lifeline.
But then their friendship gets incorrectly labeled as something more, and Dylan shocks Logan by suggesting they play along with a fake relationship.
Logan knows it’s off limits to fall in love with Dylan. He’s supposed to be straight—he’s his best friend, his roommate, and his teammate. But the closer they grow, and the more he and Dylan fake falling in love, the more real it feels.
The more real Logan wants it to be.
Making a play for love is the biggest risk he’s ever taken, but he wants it all, and he wants it with Dylan.

Good performance but...
The narrator did a great job to express all the emotions and brought the story to life. He gave all the characters distinct voices that made the story easy to follow. For the most part all the voices were great and suited the characters well but I couldn't rate this narration 5 stars cause Dylans voice really got on my nerves. I couldn't help but think this reminds me of Steve Erkle or some kind of muppet.

A new player
Beth Bolden is a great adress for sports romances and that's why I was already excited about this volume. This time it's about Dylan, who has joined a new team. Logan offensichtlich him a room in his house at the new place.
The two became fast friends and in time best friends.
But what happens when you suddenly develop feelings and you actually thought you were straight. Due to unexpected circumstances, the two decide to pretend a fake relationship to the outside World, but that's not so easy when the feelings are Real.
I loved this story and the football setting. I found the two main characters very likeable, but my secret favorite is Coach Dawson and I really hope he geht's a story as well.
I liked the budding love story, you could feel the Sexualität tension but also that they are very happy together.
Darcy Stark did a fantastic job narrating the audiobook. He has a talent for expression the feelings of the protagonists and giving each character a voice to Match.
I'm already looking forward to the next book in this series!

Best friends to lovers, bi-awakening.
Loved this new book in the Piranhas series, I really love the team and the atmosphere! Logan and Dylan are awesome! They become fast friends when Logan offers Dylan a place to stay on his first day in Miami, and when they both start feeling attracted to the other (which, for Dylan is a big surprise, having always thought of himself as straight) the dance they start around each other is both amusing and endearing! This book is on the lower angst scale, but I have a feeling the next couple of ones in the series won’t be so light… but I can’t wait to read them all the same!

Sweet and playful
Logan and Dylan's friendship was incredible and made me feel so relaxed and happy while I was listening, and getting little hints of their growing attraction to each other only made me more interested in seeing how long they'd be able to keep their feelings to themselves. When the fake boyfriends plan got floated around, I'll admit I had my doubts, mostly because I didn't think Dylan and Logan needed that for their relationship to evolve naturally into a romantic one, but much to my delight this was not your typical fake boyfriends scenario. It honestly felt more like a running joke and unnecessary justification for these guys to hold hands and make swoony eyes at each other, and I was totally here for it. Logan and Dylan's actual feelings for each other didn't get complicated by the fake boyfriend label, and if anything it turned into a launching point for their actual relationship to develop. These men were so sweet, affectionate, and playful with each other that it was impossible for me to not fall in love with them right away. I loved the pacing of their relationship, and though the two of them were strangers when this story started, by the time I was on chapter three it felt like they'd known each other for years. In terms of the plotlines, I was satisfied with the way the Ricky situation resolved itself, and I also really enjoyed the progression of Dylan's kicking during games, especially how it showcased how steadfast Coach was when it came to treating his players right. Dylan and Logan felt pretty settled and in love around halfway through the story, which let the whole second half of the book be packed with steamy bits and adorable date nights instead of the usual angst and uncertainty. I love how all these individual players are starting to feel like a unified team, and generally am really excited about where this series is headed!

Excellent narration!
Full performance elevates the story and it's characters!
These characters are engaging, fun, flawed and loveable. I like Dylan and Logan but I think I liked all the background characters more. There was more intrigue and set up for the next few stories with characters like Pax, Coach, Davis and more that kept me going through the book
Unfortunately, I felt this story started and ended strong but the middle was a mess of repetition. "I like him but can't" seemed to bounce between each main character too often and with little to no communication which would have fixed the issue before it started.
I will say the characters and sense of family and loyalty was great. It has made me want to read the other books in the series even if this one wasn't quite "it" for me.

I’m really enjoying this series in audio format!
I loved these two MCs right from the beginning. Friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes and this one is really great. Dylan and Logan are great together.
I never read the books in this series with my eyes so I have really been enjoying listening to Darcy Stark’s wonderful performance of the stories. It was also nice to get to spend more time with other characters in this series. I especially like Coach Dawson and his attitude towards his players. The voice that Darcy Stark uses for him seems very appropriate as does the ones he uses for the other characters.

sweet friends to lovers romance.
Totally loved this, was so in the mood for a virtually angst free story, with lots of heart and feels. Logan is absolute perfection , he’s loving, affectionate, kind, sweet, funny and the best friend/boyfriend you could ask for. As for Dylan, his just adorable, he's honesty and straightforwardness was perfect. I liked how he and Logan just worked together, there was no misunderstanding scenario at 60%.Their relationship just developed as it should've. So, a great story, full of wonderful characters and lovely interactions between them. Dylan and Logan smouldered together, I did like how Beth kept the chemistry between them at a very low simmer, until it finally blew up. I do enjoy this lady's writing, Darcy Stark did an excellent job of bringing the guys to life, capturing all the nuances of their characters.
