About this listen

THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER FROM THE BRITISH BOOK AWARD WINNING AUTHOR OF QUEENIE

If you could choose your family, you wouldn't choose the Penningtons

Dimple, Nikisha, Danny, Lizzie and Prynce are half-siblings who don't have much in common except abandonment issues. But when a catastrophic event forces them to reconnect with each other and with Cyril Pennington, the absent father they never really knew, things start to get complicated fast . . .

People Person is a propulsive story of heart, humour and homecoming, about the true nature of family and the complexities of belonging.

Really good book with a brilliant sensitive reading by Danielle Vitalis- A pleasure to listen to. This should be televised as the dialogue is all there already.

I enjoyed the siblings coming together and seeing their similarities and differences whilst loving each other for them.

The joy of having siblings …

I loved this book so much, it made me feel the same wonder and joy I felt reading books as a kid. I've been searching for another book that would make me feel this way since, and I'm yet to find it. I liked it a lot more than Queenie actually which is probably controversial (I liked Queenie too though obviously). I hope Candice writes another book with this same warmth and depth soooon!

LOVED

Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to listening initially but really enjoyed the way the story unfolded, dealing with familiar themes in a none typical way. The narrator really sold the sorry, each character was recognisable just by the way she read them. I really enjoyed this telling.

Interesting take on a familiar story

Another great book by Candice Carty-Williams, beautifully read by Danielle Vitalis. I loved Queenie and this was just as good. There were so many layers to this book, family, relationships, forgiveness, being a person of colour and trying to make it in a world of social media. A book I will read again to see what I missed first time round.

Fabulous!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and the narrator. It was also nice to hear the spots in South London, it put a smile on my face as I listened. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
