Victoria Benedictsson föddes 1850 och begick självmord 1888. Hon var en svensk författare och dramatiker som skrev under pseudonymen Ernst Ahlgren. Hon anses vara en av de främsta av 1880-talets realistiska författare, och var också en del av vad som i skandinavisk litteraturhistoria är känt som "det moderna genombrottet".
